The ocean plastic problem is almost too big to comprehend. Luckily, we found a partner that not only understands it, but has made it their mission to fix it. Oceanworks finds, removes and processes the plastic waste that’s headed to our oceans and landing on our beaches. Sometimes they even stop it before it reaches the water.
Amazing what a little science can do. That dangerous and unsightly garbage is turned into these cute little pellets. The process of making these is a little too detailed to get into here, but it involves patents and certifications assuring a quality product that benefits our environment.
A bunch of those little pellets get loaded into a machine, then they’re heated up super-duper hot (technical term) until they liquify and are injected into the Electra Plasket mold. The result is a new, ocean-friendly, amazingly stylish and functional basket made right here in California. Pretty rad.
