The Townie Go! (S) in size S/M comes with 26 x 2.35" balloon tires, and size M/L comes with 27.5 x 2.35" balloon tires. Electra strongly recommends adhering to the original tire size.
Will changing tires affect the speed calculation or other parts of the e-system?
Yes, changing the tire size will affect the speed calculation and load capacity. The Townie Go! (S) is designed to support a total bike capacity (including bike weight) of 300 lb/136 kg. Electra strongly recommends adhering to the original tire size.
What is the maximum chainring size? Minimum?
The Townie Go! (S) comes with a 44T chainring. Electra strongly recommends using original equipment and specifications.
What is the hub spacing? Axle size?
The rear hub spacing is 145 mm bolt-on and front hub spacing is 100 mm thru skew type. Electra strongly recommends using original equipment and specifications.
What is the rear brake mount? What is the max rotor size?
The Townie Go! (S) has IS-type front and rear brakes with 180 mm rotors. Electra strongly recommends using original equipment and specifications.

What class is this e-bike? Where can it be ridden?
The Townie Go! is a Class 2 e-bike with pedal-assist and throttle support up to 20 mph. The Townie Go! S is a Class 3 e-bike with pedal-assist support up to 28 mph, and throttle support up to 20 mph. Please reference local laws and regulations to understand where this e-bike can be ridden.
The battery range is up to 50 mi/81km. Actual range will vary based on terrain, assist level, and total carrying capacity. The throttle will use more battery than the pedal assist function of this e-bike. You can use the pedal assist exclusively to optimize your range.
What is the motor power/output?
The motor power is 500 W nominal rating with an output of 60 Nm of torque.
What type of charger does it come with and how long does it take to charge the battery?
This e-bike comes with an Electra-branded EasyMag 2.7-amp charger and will charge to 50% in about 3 hours, and 100% in 5.5 hours from empty. A replacement charger (SKU 5329961) can be ordered online or through an authorized Electra retailer.
How is the battery properly charged?
Only charge the battery with the included charger type in a dry indoor area between the temperatures 32 to 104 °F (0 to 40 °C). Do not leave it unattended. When the battery is fully charged, disconnect the charger from the e-bike and wall socket.
Can the battery be upgraded to a larger size?
No.
Can a second battery be added to extend the bike's range?
No.
How much does the battery weigh?
The Ride+ In-Tube 520 Wh battery weighs approximately 6.55 lb/2.98 kg.
Is the battery removable and can it be replaced?
No, the integrated battery cannot be removed. To replace your battery, please visit an authorized Electra retailer.
Is this e-system compliant with the latest safety certifications?
Yes, all Trek and Electra e-bikes are compliant with the UL 2849 standard. The e-bike batteries are also compliant to the UL 2771 standard.
Can this e-bike be ridden with the throttle lever removed?
Yes, the Townie Go! (S) e-system will function normally as a pedal-assist e-bike without the throttle connected. Please note: this does not legally reclassify your e-system from Class 3 to Class 2 as this is completed via firmware.
Which app is this e-bike compatible with?
The Townie Go! (S) is compatible with the Trek Central app, available on the App Store and Google Play.

Are any new tools required to service the e-system?
Yes, the servicing dongle, (SKU 5273641), is Bluetooth compatible and required to run diagnostics on the e-system. This is the same dongle used to service other Electra Hyena Go! e-bikes.
Yes. Software updates must be performed by an authorized Electra retailer.
How often should this e-bike be serviced?
It is best practice to bring your e-bike to an authorized Electra retailer once a year to check for e-system updates and for servicing.
What is the warranty for the e-system and who should claims be made with?
There is a two-year warranty for the e-system. All warranty claims should be processed by an authorized Electra retailer.
Can this e-bike be ridden with a flat battery?
Yes, the Townie Go! (S) can be ridden with no battery charge.
Does it have any accessory mounts?
Yes, the Townie Go! (S) comes with a kickstand, rear MIK HD rack, front and rear lights, and extruded alloy fenders with updated light cable management. This model does not include a ring lock.
Does it have wiring for lights? What lights are compatible?
Yes, the Townie Go! (S) comes with a Herrmans front headlight and a Sate-lite rear light with turn signals and a brake light. Electra strongly recommends using the original equipment.
What types of products are compatible with the included rack?
Any MIK products and side pannier bags are compatible with the included rear rack.
Is it compatible with child seats?
Yes. The maximum weight rating for the rear rack on the Townie Go! (S) is 60 lb/27 kg.
Is it compatible with trailers?
The Townie Go! (S) uses a bolt-on rear axle type and is compatible with trailers that can attach to a standard QR rear axle.
Can this e-bike be carried with a car rack? What type?
This e-bike can be carried with a car rack. It is recommended to use a rack that has a minimum carrying capacity of 60 lb/27.22 kg and does not secure over the top of the tires, as the fenders will interfere with its attachment.
