How is the Ponto Go! classified as an e-bike?

The Ponto Go! is a Class 2 e-bike with pedal-assist and throttle support up to 20 mph. The Ponto Go! S is a Class 3 e-bike with pedal-assist support up to 26 mph, and throttle support up to 20 mph. Please reference local laws and regulations to understand where this e-bike can be ridden.

Is there an age requirement for Ponto Go! riders and passengers?

Yes. Riders and passengers must be at least 16 years old to ride or test ride the Ponto Go! Minimum passenger age and other restrictions vary by state.

Can the Ponto Go! handle a passenger?

Yes. This e-bike is designed to safely support a second rider. Always remember, both the rider and passenger must wear helmets. Ponto Go! owners should be aware of restrictions under local and state legislation for e-bike passengers. Additionally, they should understand how the bike will handle differently with a second rider on board.

What is the weight of the bike?

The Ponto Go! weighs 78lbs/36 kg. with the battery attached.

How much weight can the Ponto Go! carry?

The total carry weight is determined by Rider + Passenger + Cargo, which equals 360lbs/163 kg. Note, carry weight does not change with an added saddle riser or an added front tray.

Is it compatible with child seats?

No. A child seat cannot be safely mounted to the Ponto Go!

Is it compatible with trailers?

No, this model is not compatible with trailers.

Is it compatible with car racks?

Yes. The following requirements must be considered when selecting a suitable car rack to transport Ponto Go!
• 2” hitch receiver
• 80lb minimum carrying capacity
• 4” tire carrier rack/tray
• A secure hook mechanism that can be brought down onto the frame of the bike

What lights are compatible with the Ponto Go!?

Electra strongly recommends sticking with original equipment as replacing the front light may interfere with the suspension fork and accessories.

The Ponto Go! comes with preinstalled front and rear lights that are connected to the e-system battery. The rear taillight is an integrated system of a standard running light (red light), brake light (bright red light), and turn signal indicators (amber lights on either side of brake light). The front light is a Hermans MR-9E, which is a standard running light.

What is the maximum tire size with and without fenders?

The Ponto Go! comes equipped with fenders and proprietary 20x4” tires. Electra strongly recommends sticking with original equipment as changing tires will affect the e-system and carrying load.

Will changing tires affect the e-system and carrying load?

Yes, changing the tire size will affect the speed calculation and load capacity. The Ponto Go! is designed to support a total bike capacity (including bike weight) of 440lbs/200 kg, in which special tires (W5306537) are required to manage a higher load capacity compared to conventional tires. Electra strongly recommends only using or replacing with original equipment.

What is the maximum chainring size? Minimum?

The Ponto Go! comes with a 56T chainring. Electra strongly recommends sticking with original equipment and specifications

What is the hub spacing? Axle size?

Front hub spacing: 135mm
Rear hub spacing: 178mm

What is the front/rear brake mount and max rotor size?

The Ponto Go! has a post mount rear brake and front brake with 180mm rotors. Electra strongly recommends sticking with original equipment and specifications.

Is there a mobile app for customers to download?

The Ponto Go! is compatible with the Trek Central app, available on the App Store and Google Play.

What are the core components of the BEP system?

What type of charger does it come with and how long does it take to charge the battery?

It comes with a 2-amp charger and will charge to 50% in about 3 hours, and to 100% in 7 hours. The charger replacement is SKU W5308236.

How is the battery properly charged?

Only charge the battery with the charger that comes with the bike or the charger replacement. Only charge it in a dry indoor area between the temperatures 32 to 104° F (0 to 40° C). Do not leave a charging e-bike unattended. When the battery is fully charged, disconnect the charger from the e-bike and wall socket.

How much does the battery weigh?

The e-system battery weighs approximately 8lbs/4 kg.

Is the battery removable? What if I need to replace it?

Yes, the battery can be removed and automatically locks when on the bike. Note, Electra requires the battery to be attached and the key to be removed for riding. To replace your battery, please visit an authorized Electra retailer.

How long after the battery discharges (no longer supplying power to the motor) will the lights and phone charger continue to work?

The BEP motor shuts off at 3% battery power which leaves approximately 18Wh of power left. The bike can be ridden without power supply to the motor. Riders that continue to run the lights will get about three hours of run time. Riders that continue to run the lights and phone charger will get about one hour of run time.

Can the battery be upgraded to a larger size?

No.

What is the range?

The battery range is up to 37 miles/60km using throttle-only, and up to 61 miles/100km using pedal assist. Actual range will vary based on terrain, assist level, and total carrying capacity.

What is the motor power/output?

The motor power is 750W nominal rating with an output of 60Nm torque.

What kind of display comes with this e-system?

Ponto Go! uses a compact LCD remote that is easy and intuitive to operate. This e-bike also pairs with the Trek Central app for additional riding metrics.

What is the warranty for the e-system and who do I contact for service parts?

There is a two-year warranty for the hub motor, wires, controller, and battery. All warranty claims should be processed by an authorized Electra retailer.

Where can Ponto Go! be serviced?

Authorized Electra retailers and Trek retailers with Trek Certified Expert Technicians that have the tools and expertise to work on the BEP system.

What is Quad Lock and why is it included on the Ponto Go!?

Quad Lock is an industry-leading, secure phone mounting system which enables riders to physically connect their phones to their bikes. Ponto Go! riders should connect their phone and bike to the Trek Central mobile app for the best riding experience.

What parts from Quad Lock are included with the Ponto Go!?

Everything will arrive in a small parts box. A Quad Lock Wireless Charging Head for mounting a smartphone to the handlebar will need to be installed during initial assembly at an authorized Electra retailer. We will also include a Universal Adaptor adhesive mount for owners to stick on their phone or phone case.

Will the Quad Lock Wireless Charging Head provide charging power to the phone?

Yes. To enable wireless charging, you need a Quad Lock phone case designed for your phone and your phone must be wireless charging compatible. These are available for purchase at an authorized Electra retailer or on the Quad Lock website. The included Universal Adaptor adhesive mount is not intended for charging.

How much power will the Quad Lock charger provide?

The Ponto Go! will produce up to 7.5 watts of charge. Charging speed will depend on phone apps running in the background.
