The Townie Go! 7D (EQ) comes with 26 x 2.35" (Step-Thru) and 27.5 x 2.35" (Step-Over) balloon tires. The EQ version of both models comes equipped with fenders. Electra strongly recommends adhering to the original tire size.

Will changing tires affect the speed calculation or other parts of the e-system?

Yes, changing the tire size will affect the speed calculation and load capacity. The Townie Go! 7D (EQ) is designed to support a total bike capacity (including bike weight) of 300 lb/136 kg. Electra strongly recommends adhering to the original tire size.

What type of bottom bracket does it use?

The Townie Go! 7D (EQ) uses a T47 bottom bracket with an integrated torque and cadence sensor.

What is the maximum chainring size? Minimum?

The Townie Go! 7D (EQ) comes with a 42T chainring. Electra strongly recommends using original equipment and specifications.

What is the hub spacing? Axle type?

The rear hub spacing is 135 mm bolt-on type and front hub spacing is 100 mm QR type. Electra strongly recommends using original equipment and specifications.

What is the rear brake mount? What is the max rotor size?

The Townie Go! 7D (EQ) has post-mounted front and rear brakes with 180 mm rotors. Electra strongly recommends using original equipment and specifications.

What class is this e-bike? Where can it be ridden?

The Townie Go! 7D (EQ) is a Class 1 e-bike with pedal-assist support up to 20 mph. Please reference local laws and regulations to understand where this e-bike can be ridden.

What is the range?

The battery range is up to 40 mi/64 km. Actual range will vary based on terrain, assist level, and total carrying capacity.

What is the motor power/output?

The motor power is 250 W nominal rating with an output of 40 Nm of torque.

What type of charger does it come with and how long does it take to charge the battery?

This e-bike comes with a 2-amp charger and will charge to 50% in about 2 hours, and 100% in 4 hours from empty. The charger replacement (SKU W5284218) can be ordered online or through an authorized Electra retailer.

How is the battery properly charged?

Only charge the battery with the included charger type in a dry indoor area between the temperatures 32 to 104 °F (0 to 40 °C). Do not leave it unattended. When the battery is fully charged, disconnect the charger from the e-bike and wall socket.

Can the battery be upgraded to a larger size?

No.

Can a second battery be added to extend the bike's range?

Yes, the Hyena Range Extender Battery (SKU 5271536) can be added to Townie Go! 7D (EQ) and can be purchased from an authorized Electra retailer.

How often should this e-bike be serviced?

It is best practice to bring your e-bike to an authorized Electra retailer once a year to check for e-system updates and for servicing.

What is the warranty for the e-system and who should claims be made with?

There is a two-year warranty for the e-system. All warranty claims should be processed by an authorized Electra retailer.

Can this e-bike be ridden with a flat battery?

Yes, the Townie Go! 7D (EQ) can be ridden with no battery charge.

Does it have any accessory mounts?

Yes, the Townie Go! 7D (EQ) comes with ring lock mounts and a kickstand. The Townie Go! 7D EQ is also equipped with fenders and front and rear lights. Both models are compatible with aftermarket fenders, lights, and front and rear MIK racks.

Does it have wiring for lights? What lights are compatible?

Yes, the Townie Go! 7D is compatible with lights (SKU 5271111). Fenders (model number 35723) must be installed first.

Is it compatible with child seats?

No. The maximum weight rating for the rear rack on the Townie Go! 7D EQ is 55 lb/25 kg. Child seat compatibility requires testing and labeling for a max weight rating of 60 lb/27 kg.

Is it compatible with trailers?

Yes, the Townie Go! 7D (EQ) is compatible with trailers.

Can this e-bike be carried with a car rack? What type?

This e-bike can be carried with a car rack. It is recommended to use a rack that has a minimum carrying capacity of 46 lb/21 kg and does not secure over the top of the tires, as the fenders will interfere with its attachment.
