No, this extender can only be installed by a qualified mechanic at your local Trek retailer.

Can a rider use a bigger or smaller battery with the range extender?

No, this extender and the software required are set up to add a PowerPack 400 Wh. The space available is also limited and a larger PowerPack will not fit.

When the range extender is installed, the battery with the higher power level will discharge first until both batteries reach the same charge level. Then it will discharge them both in parallel.

How will the extra battery life and range display on my Bosch LED Remote?

The battery charge level on the display combines both batteries percentages and treats it as one battery. You will see a graphic showing both batteries and their battery level as well. The range will show the total range of the combined batteries.

Is the Bosch PowerPack battery UL compliant?

Yes. Like all our Bosch components, the PowerPack 400 Wh battery is UL compliant to the UL 2271 standard.
